Hello readers and visitors! I’m stoked to share some very special news- Curious Appetite made the Finalist list for Best Food Culture Category in their 9th annual blog awards. Would you all be so kind to mosey over to this link and vote for Curious Appetite? Make sure to check out the delectable company I’m in and the whole 11 categories represented such as Best Photography, Food Obsessive Blog, Drinks, etc.
The voting period is until Wednesday September 12th and they allow multiple votes- so hey if you can remember please vote for your favorite blogs as many times as you’d like!
If you’re a new reader, check out on my profile and fellow competing blogs in the Meet The Finalists of Best Food Culture.
Saveur is one of my favorite culinary journals, and one of my dream pubs to write for- so it came as a huge happy surprise when I received an e-mail from the blog awards team informing of my blog arriving as a Finalist! What’s even more humbling is being in company of other fellow writers I admire and respect, including Jul’s Kitchen! (auguri, Giulia e Tommaso!)
Thanks to any of you out there who took the time to nominate my site. I was checking out the numbers, and it looks like there were over 20,000 nominations and only 66 blogs selected! Whether Curious Appetite is selected or not, I’m charmed to even receive such recognition- from one of the magazines I respect and admire most in this food world.
The winners will be announced at their awards ceremony held this November in Memphis, TN and I hope to be able to go. For those of you who may not know, I spent 6 years living in Memphis and left when I was 16. I haven’t returned since I moved back on the West Coast to Seattle, and find this will be a great reason to revisit memory lane. I’m excited for a reason to revisit now as an adult- the city where Elvis was born, where BBQ is dangerously delicious (with an annual BBQ competition) and home of the blues.
I’m back in Florence for a while and while missing San Francisco very much, I’m doing my best to stay busy digging into food in Florence, giving tours and will be revisiting my latest crush with Sicily. Stick around on the blog for new food & drink finds, I have some articles/guides in the works and am daily posting on instagram.
Wish me luck! Thank you SO much to those who nominated and who took the time to tick the box for my blog- a labor of true love!
In bocca al lupo a tutti,
